2. Registration and Acceptance of Terms

The PETing app is designed to help animal lovers connect. When registering, your profile must reflect reality: real photos are required (not cartoons), and accurate data must be provided. By using the Application, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The Operator reserves the right to modify the Terms; continued use after modifications implies acceptance.

Main rules in short:

• The Application may only be used by persons over 18 years old.
• You guarantee that the information provided upon registration is accurate and truthful.
• Uploaded content may be shared with other users (except for some subscription-based data).
• You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the Application.

The app's logic (e.g., like/dislike, match, chat, premium features) is described within the Application. Premium services (e.g., incognito, viewing who liked you, instant messages) are available for a fee.

3. In-App Purchases

In-app payments are handled by Google Play and Apple’s payment systems. Conditions and prices are displayed within the Application prior to subscription.

4. Code of Conduct

It is prohibited to post or upload content that:

• is unlawful or violates these Terms;
• is false or misleading;
• insults, discriminates, harasses, or threatens;
• infringes others’ rights or copyrights;
• is pornographic, obscene, or promotes violence;
• incites hatred (e.g., homophobic or racist content);
• is spam, commercial content, or malicious code;
• contains personal contact or banking information.

Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund of subscriptions. If you encounter problematic content, please report it at info@peting.hu.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Operator is not responsible for user behavior or uploaded content. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of error-free or uninterrupted operation, or content accuracy. We are only liable for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for damages affecting life, health, or physical integrity. The Operator’s aggregate liability is limited to HUF 5,000.

You agree to indemnify the Operator against any claims or damages resulting from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

6. Termination of Account

You may terminate your account at any time. Account deletion terminates the contract, but the limitation of liability in section 5 remains in effect indefinitely.

7. Miscellaneous

Hungarian law applies to the contract and disputes. If any provision of the Terms is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce rights does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

• Hobbies

For premium services, additional data (e.g., full name, credit card details, address) may be requested. Please avoid providing sensitive data (e.g., religion, political views).

3. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

The purpose of processing is to facilitate connections and matching based on user preferences. The legal basis is the consent you provide during registration.

4. Sources of Data

Data is usually provided by users themselves. Other users may provide data about you during interactions. Facebook login may be used for registration and login.

5. Processing Tools and Data Transfers

Each user is identified by a generated ID. Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In the case of international transfers, appropriate safeguards are applied (e.g., EU-approved standard contractual clauses), where required.

The app may use Facebook plugins, through which Facebook may receive information about your visit.

6. Data Retention

Data is processed until consent is withdrawn (account deletion). In exceptional cases (e.g., legal proceedings), data may be retained as required by law.

7. User Rights

1. Right of Access: You may request information about the personal data we process and the circumstances of processing.
2. Right to Rectification: You may request modification of your personal data.
3. Right to Restriction: You may request restriction of processing in certain cases.
4. Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your data where no other legal basis applies.
5. Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a machine-readable format.

8. Remedies

If you believe your data has been mishandled, please contact us first at info@peting.hu. You may also file a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) or turn to the courts.
